The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews

The Weekenders
by Mary Kay Andrews

It's a lifestyle most of us have no idea about. Living on an island.
No cars. Only reachable by boat. Riley Griggs and her daughter,
Maggy, spend every summer there. Her husband, Wendell, is
one of the weekenders. The story starts with Wendell
missing the last ferry of the day over to Belle Isle. While
their time on Belle Isle is normally quiet, social and fun, t
his particular summer is not starting out so.
There is so much action in this story. So many terrific
characters. Twists and surprises. Life and forgiveness.
Love coming out of nowhere. From an impossible place.

This line from the story caught my eye. I think it sums
up the whole book.
"Nobody knows what somebody else is capable of."

Good grief, that's sure the truth!
This is my first Mary Kay Andrews read. I
borrowed The Weekenders from a friend.
I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys
surprises in their reading, with some laughs
and romance mixed it.
