Susan's Review of Samantha Chase's Save Me--Donovan Series #3

Pretending to date the town’s bad boy seemed like a good idea.
But who knew that being bad could feel so good…
A small town, fake dating, opposites attract standalone romance from NY Times Best Selling Author Samantha Chase
br/>
Ryleigh Donovan has been unsuccessfully dodging her mother’s matchmaking attempts for far too long. In an act of desperation, she finds the one guy in her small town who is guaranteed to shock everyone to be her fake boyfriend. It doesn’t need to be for long, she just needs to buy herself enough time to recover from her mother’s last disastrous fix-up. It’s really a fool-proof plan. But when a few staged kisses lead to some very real feelings, she realizes she might be in over her head.
Ryker Masella has been patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity to get Ryleigh to take him—and his numerous attempts at asking her out—seriously. When she grabs him and kisses him in front of her family to prove a point, he’s more than on board. But when she proposes a fake—and temporary—relationship, he’s 100% on board. After all, she might be all about pretending, but he sees it as a way for Ryleigh to truly see the real him.
Fake flirting and orchestrated dates quickly bring on real feelings. For Ryker, they’ve always been there and he’ll be as patient as he needs to be. She might have asked him to save her from her family, but what he wants is to save her from herself.

Save Me is the third novel in Samantha Chase’s Donovan series. The chemistry between Ryleigh Donovan and Ryker Massella has been simmering for the past few months—I was so excited to read this novel!

Ryleigh Donovan is tired of her mother’s over the top matchmaking. Kate’s last fix up for Ryleigh was a complete disaster and Ryleigh needs to figure out a way to stop this nonsense. She leaves the pub and runs into Ryker Massella. Ryker is the opposite of what Kate views as boyfriend material for Ryleigh—he’s kinda scruffy looking with a beard and tattoos. Ryleigh asks Ryker to be her fake boyfriend and he agrees.

Ryker had asked Ryleigh out and she’d refused him. Now, he has the chance to romance Ryleigh and let her see the man behind the beard and tattoos. I enjoyed how this story evolved-at first Ryker supported Ryleigh. And when Ryker needed support-Ryleigh was there for him.

Ryleigh and Ryker are creative people; Ryleigh designs websites and Ryker is a well- known tattoo artist who is on a sabbatical as he figures out the next step in his career.. The chemistry between the couple is off the charts and it was so much fun to read their love story. Loved that Ryker put his feelings for Ryleigh out there first and waited for Ryleigh to fall for him—this was beautifully written.
Loved all the Donovan drama and that Ryker shaved his beard and got a haircut before his first family dinner—Ryleigh’s reaction was priceless—she knew he didn’t have to change his appearance to be accepted….this was such a key element in the storyline. Ryker’s interest in Ryleigh drew me into this emotional love story—the characters are beautifully developed, their love story is passionate and the addition of Donovan drama adds humor and light to the novel.

I highly recommend Samantha Chase’s save Me—Ryker is Ryleigh’s perfect Valentine!

Susan's Review of Tempt Me by Samantha Chase

Lady Celeste is thrilled to recommend Tempt Me by Samantha Chase.

He hates the holidays. She lives for them. Let the games begin.

A small town, grumpy/sunshine romance from NY Times Best Selling Author Samantha Chase

Six months ago, Liam Donovan met the world's cheeriest, most upbeat woman at a wedding.
It was the longest two days of his life.
Now she’s his next door neighbor.
Talk about awkward.

Tessa Sullivan believes in always looking at the bright side. Unfortunately, her new neighbor is the most negative man on the planet and seems to have made it his mission to ruin her good mood on a daily basis. She loves to sing, she loves to smile, but more than anything, she loves to decorate for the holidays. The fact that this seems to bug her new neighbor is simply a perk.

After twelve years in the Marines, Liam is more than ready to come home and start the next phase of his life. He’s starting a business, reconnecting with his mildly over-bearing family, and loves the fact that he’s finally got a place of his own. If only his neighbor’s decorations would stay on her side of the property. There isn’t one thing about Tessa that tempts him…until there is. Now she’s all he can think about.

Being friends makes sense.
Becoming lovers was inevitable.
But having Tessa be his forever is more than tempting.

*Each book in the Donovans series can be read as a standalone*

Review by Susan

Tempt Me is a poignant story of two people who are struggling to find their footing. Samantha Chase has created a heartfelt story for former marine Liam Donovan and music teacher Tessa Sullivan. At first, I thought Tempt Me was a grumpy hero-sunshine heroine novel- Tempt Me is SO MUCH MORE!! Samantha Chase has created two very complicated characters in Tempt Me. Neither character is what they appear to be—loved getting to know both of them. Tessa’s grief is overwhelming-she puts on her happy face to the outside world. Once she enters her front door she is surrounded by memories of the life she shared with Trevor. She understands she needs to move forward but is torn—she doesn’t want to forget Trevor. Loved that through Tessa’s experiences, Samantha Chase was able to show that everyone’s journey through grief is different. Liam has returned home after spending 12 years in the military. As the oldest sibling, he is used to bossing everyone around and having them fall into line. Things have changed –his brothers and sisters grown up, have successful careers and don’t appreciate his interference. The conversations between Liam and his brother Patrick are spot on and reveal so much about Liam. The novel takes place over a 4 month period which enables the reader to connect with the couple. The chemistry between the couple sizzles—this pairing is a true opposites attract romance. Liam challenges Tessa to move forward while Liam finds himself looking forward to cooking dinner with Tessa. Loved that Tessa brought laughter and love into Liam’s life. Tempt Me is a well-plotted, deeply emotional story with unforgettable characters whose story will tug at your heartstrings. I am so looking forward to the next Donovan book !! Reviewed by Susan Gorman ARC provided by the Author

Susan's Review Of Dare Me by Samantha Chase--Book 1 Donovans Series

One year ago, Arianna Donovan and Will Jameson met on a dare and spent a perfect 24 together before going their separate ways. She thought they would stay in touch, but he disappeared without a word.

Arianna thought she’d moved on. But when Will shows up at a family dinner with her older—and very protective—brother, she’s angry and confused. How could he possibly forget to mention that he was friends with her brother? No one knows about their past and Arianna wants to keep things that way. No matter how tempting Will is.

When he walked away a year ago, Will thought it was for the best. Staying away from Arianna was the smart thing to do, especially with how protective her older brother—his friend and fellow soldier—can be. Time and distance will work wonders when you’re trying to stay away from someone. Now that he’s seen her again, he forgets all about doing the smart thing. He’ll just have to first convince her to let go of her anger and give him another chance.

Will isn’t above playing the nostalgia card, and when he challenges Arianna to a sexy game of truth or dare, she can’t resist. Neither one is ready to tell the world what they’re doing, but how long can they possibly keep things a secret when there are Donovans ready to meddle around every corner?

Samantha Chase’s Dare Me has the best meet cute!

One year ago, Arianna Donovan met Will Jameson on a dare. The couple spent a perfect day sightseeing in San Francisco and ended their romantic date watching the sun rise. Ari hoped to convince Will to try a long distance relationship-but-he ghosted her! Imagine her surprise when her brother Liam brought Will to family dinner! Best scene ever!

Ari graduated from college and completed an internship in California before returning home to Laurel Bay. She enjoys her independence and has a great job as a radiologist. Her parents and brothers view her as the “baby sister” they do not understand that she is an intelligent woman with a challenging career. She’s tired of her parents trying to control her and wants to put miles between herself and her overbearing family.

Will’s family life is the total opposite from Ari’s. Raised by his Mom who recently passed—he has no one to go home to. He is looking to put down roots after completing his last tour for the Marine Corps. His dream is to design affordable housing for single parent families. Will and Liam decide to develop a piece of property and he begins to settle into his apartment.

Love the Truth or Dare game that the author weaves through the novel. The game adds so much humor and fun as the questions are asked, answered, feelings are revealed and the chemistry sizzles. The answers quickly move Ari and Will’s story from friends to lovers. I loved Ari’s sassy independent nature and that Samantha Chase allowed both Will and Ari to grow during the novel. Ari became such a relatable, dynamic character with each chapter and watching Will fall head over heels in love with Ari was swoon worthy.

Dare Me is the first book in Samantha Chase’s Donovan series. I adored Ari and Will’s sexy truth or dare romance. The characters are appealing, the romance sizzles and the connection between Ari and Will is genuine. Looking forward to the next book in the series—Tempt Me.

If you are looking for a fun, flirty, heartfelt read treat yourself to Samantha Chase’s Dare Me! I highly recommend it!

Susan's Review of Samantha Chase's Kiss The Girl--Magnolia Sound --#11

Savannah James is no stranger to heartache and loss. It wasn’t enough to lose two sets of parents, now she’s losing the only person she has left. Escorting Cash Coleman back to Magnolia Sound so he can say goodbye to his family is a no brainer if it means she gets to spend whatever time he has left with him. Once he’s gone, it’s back to her lonely life in Seattle. At least, that’s what she thought would happen before she met Cash’s family—and his youngest son.

When it comes to his father, Jackson Coleman isn’t short on anger. So when the old man comes back to Magnolia Sound to say goodbye, he’s determined not to care. But with Cash comes Savannah, and Jackson starts to question everything he’s ever thought about his father—like why was he able to be a parent to a friend’s daughter when he couldn’t even be there for his own sons? As much as Savannah represents everything he resents about Cash, he also can’t deny the intense attraction he feels for her.

After a lifetime of being left behind, Savannah finally found the one person she wants to stay. But in order to have a chance at a happily ever after with Jackson, she’ll have to fight every instinct she has to not get attached.

Samantha Chase’s Kiss the Girl is an unforgettable, emotional journey with all the feels. It’s filled with appealing characters, down to earth family drama and heartfelt romance. The relationship triangle between Cash Coleman, Savannah James and Jackson Coleman drew me into the story.

Cash Coleman’s return to Magnolia Sound drives the storyline and sets off a series of events that impacts the entire Coleman clan. Samantha Chase’s voice is perfect for this type of novel as she writes from the heart. Loved the conversations between Cash’s sons and family members. The dialogue is honest, direct and no one holds back as they ask themselves why has Cash reappeared? Why now?

Jackson and Savannah meet at Donovan’s Pub—neither is aware of each other’s relationship with Cash. Loved that Jackson was at a total loss for words when he first approached Savannah at Donovan’s. The attraction between the couple unnerved Jackson so much that he forgot to get her phone number.

The characters is Kiss the Girl are complex, compelling, and they face real life challenges. Savannah has overcome illness, loss and betrayal; her story tugged at my heart. Her journey made her a strong person but, she can’t get over the fear of being left behind. Jackson grew up without his father and although he has a large, supportive family he suffers from trust and abandonments issues. I felt for Jackson and his brothers Austin and Garret. Even though they were part of the large Coleman clan, they were not afforded the same opportunities as their cousins.

I was moved to tears throughout the novel as Savannah’s relationship with Jackson strengthens as Cash’s condition worsens. Samantha Chase did not redeem Cash instead, she chose to provide insight into a troubled man’s life and his choices. Cash didn’t ask for forgiveness. He wanted understanding and a chance to reconnect with his family. The conversations that Cash had with Savannah, his sons and Grace were poignant and gave me goosebumps. Cash and his family were given a rare gift. They were able to say good bye, clear the air and share memories of happy times with Cash. These pages were poignant and written with so much heart and understanding.

Samantha Chase’s Kiss the Girl focuses on Savannah and the Coleman family’s journey. The compelling story emphasizes Savannah’s ability to overcome the many obstacles in her life and enables her to trust herself to love again. Jackson learns to trust, to forgive and to move forward. Loved the subtle character nuances, the relationships between the Coleman brothers and the strength of Grace Coleman who held her family together through good and bad times. The powerful story with its dynamic characters, passionate romance and family drama is a must read for 2022!

Susan's Review of the I Do Over by Samantha Chase -- Meet Me at the Altar -- #6

For 48 hours, they were married. But that was a long time ago.

Seventeen years ago, Maddie Christopher told one little white lie, and it has been wreaking havoc on her life ever since. At the time, the lie was worth it–it meant she got to marry the man she loved, however brief a marriage it was–but now she's ready to finally move on. But in order to do that, she needs to find the man whose heart she broke all those years ago and finally apologize.

Knox Channing has everything he could have asked for in life–after a career in the Navy SEALs, he's now running a thriving security firm with his two best friends. The only thing that would make it better is if he wasn't the lone single guy in his friend group. But after having had his heart broken once, he's not looking to go back there.Or at least that's what he thought before Maddie showed up in his office.

He swore that he would never let himself fall for anyone again, much less for the woman who once broke his heart. But sometimes you fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time. Twice.

?

Samantha Chase created two relatable, dynamic characters. Knox Channing is a complex character. The former Navy Seal served with distinction and a partner in a successful security firm. He never, ever dates a girl more than one time. I wanted to discover the reason –was he afraid of commitment? – did he have a broken heart? Maddie Christopher is a successful physical therapist who wants to settle down and get married. Something is stopping her—she needs to ask someone for forgiveness.

Both Maddie and Knox are flawed characters. Samantha Chase switches the story up by having the heroine be the character that needs forgiveness. And it WORKED! Maddie made a big mistake that torpedoed her relationship with her parents, friends and most of all Knox. Knox joined the Navy to avoid the anger of his parents. Ms. Chase does not downplay Maddie’s actions as she owns her mistakes and knows she needs to ask Knox for forgiveness. I related to Maddie’s mistake; she was young in love and terrified of her father’s anger. It doesn’t change what she did—but, I could understand why she reacted the way she did.

Forgiveness is the key element to this romance. Samantha Chase writes a story full of emotion and balances it with a healthy dose of romance, friendship and challenges. Loved this storyline because it’s told with a different twist; it’s Maddie who needs to step up, own her mistakes and ask for forgiveness. Maddie knew she needed to speak with Knox in person—she needed to face the fire—and this had me rooting for Maddie and Knox! Samantha Chase crafts believable story about high school lovers who reunite 17 years later. She adds in the perfect amount of backstory to highlight the couples different career paths and life experiences and keeps the focus on the connection between Maddie and Knox.

Maddie and Knox’s story is a second chance romance with all the feels. Loved the engaging characters who drew me into their love story and had me rooting for their happily ever after from the first page.

Add the I Do Over to your beach bag this weekend—am sure you will love the fireworks between Maddie and Knox as much as I did!!

Susan's Review of Groomed To Perfection by Samantha Chase----Meet Me at the Altar #5

Ready to head back to the Meet Me at the Altar office and see who's falling in love and heading for their own happily ever after?

In just one night, she stole his jacket...and his heart.

Shy baker Emilie Michaels never thought she'd meet her Prince Charming. Especially no at an event she's working at. But when a handsome stranger finds her hiding in a corner and strikes up a conversation, she can't help but be drawn in. Unfortunately, duty calls and she's forced to flee, leaving the man of her dreams behind. All she has to remember that night night is his first name and the suit jacket he gave her to stay warm.

Family has always come first for the Vandergrifts. It doesn't matter what Cooper might want out of his life, his parents have had a plan for him since the day he was born. His mother even has his wedding all planned out, despite the fact that there's no bride in the picture. But when Cooper walks into the Meet Me at the Altar offices for a cake tasting and finds himself face to face with the woman he met at a party all those months ago, he thinks it might be time to finally have a say in his love life.
Cooper had resigned himself to a life that would be all about family obligations, but just a few hours with Emilie have him convinced that maybe he could be something else. It's just a matter of deciding whose happiness matters more: his family's or his own.

Fairy lights and a liberal dash of pixie dust create the perfect backdrop for Emilie Michels and Cooper Vandergrift romance. They meet at a society wedding – he’s a guest and she’s part of the catering crew. Cooper asks Emilie to stay and the couple talk for hours without revealing why they are at the wedding. The couple share a magical kiss before Emilie leaves with Cooper’s coat.

Samantha Chase’s Cinderella inspired novel Groomed to Perfection is filled with captivating characters, family drama and a classic Disney inspired romance. As the oldest son, Cooper Vandergrift is expected to take over the family business. Although he enjoys designing and building, he’s being pushed into a career and a life that does not appeal to him by is overbearing mother. Samantha Chase creates a wonderful hero in Cooper. I loved his easy going nature and cheered for him when he realized that he had to step up in order to claim his future.

Emilie has been one of my favorite characters in the series—she is a loyal friend to her business partners and always has a tub of frosting or a plate of cookies in times of stress. Emilie is hard working and family oriented-she takes care of her grandmother before heading into work. Enjoyed getting to know her parents and her grandmother—the best Samantha Chase character ever—she was a hoot!

Loved that Emile and Cooper supported each other. Both characters had dreams—Cooper wanted to work in the design department. Emilie wants to open a bakery at the Meet Me at the Altar offices. Loved the couples chemistry and Cooper’s relationship with Emilie’s grandmother was perfect—so sweet! Samantha Chase writes a heartfelt romance for this couple who realize family is more important than social standing, you can choose your future and a dream is a wish your heart makes!

I enjoyed every word of Groomed to Perfection and I know you will too!

Five Fun Facts About: GROOMED TO PERFECTION from Samantha Chase

1) There was a scene in the movie "Sabrina" where she was hiding in a tree and watching a society party on the property. That was partial inspiration for Cooper and Emilie's meet cute.

2) Another movie that inspired part of the book was "And Officer and a Gentleman". I may have watched that ending scene about a dozen times!

3) I wrote part of the book while staying at a hotel for the weekend for a mini-writing-retreat. It had a great view of downtown Raleigh and it made me write a scene where Cooper and Emilie are dining at a restaurant with a similar view.

4) I tend to go on sites like Zillow for inspiration for where my characters live. Cooper comes from a wealthy family and I had a hella good time looking up places for him! It's a huge time suck, but oh so satisfying!

5) There is a bit of a Cinderella theme to this book but I didn't want to be obvious with it. So instead of her leaving a shoe behind, she takes his jacket! Lol!

**BONUS FACT: I tell people this book is a cross between Cinderella and the original TV show, Dynasty. For those of you around my age, you may remember the version with Joan Collins, Linda Evans, and John Forsythe. Trust me when I tell you we have a VERY Dynasty-ish scene in this book!**

Susan’s Review of A Sky Full of Stars by Samantha Chase

WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE
Brilliant astrophysicist Dr. Owen Shaughnessy feels more connected to the cosmos than to people. He’s great with calculations, but when he leads a team of scientists to study a famous meteor shower, he doesn’t factor in his free-spirited artist assistant Brooke Matthews.

LOVE CAN DAZZLE YOU
Polar opposites in personality, the friction between them threatens to derail the project. But the beauty and mystery of the night sky draw Owen and Brooke together—and she’s going to surprise him in ways the stars never could.

A Sky Full of Stars is a heartwarming story of one man’s courage to believe in himself and the woman who has faith in him and their relationship. Once again, Samantha Chase has written a novel which has exceeded my expectations.

Samantha Chase’s flawless descriptive writing style draws the reader into Owen and Brooke’s story. In the first chapter of the novel, Dr. Owen Shaughnessy notices that an attractive woman has walked into his lecture about meteor showers. Owen is surprised when the woman approaches him and apologizes for being late to his class. She explains that her uncle, Howard Shields, suggested that she attend the lecture. Dr. Shields enters the lecture hall and introduces Owen to his niece; artist Brooke Matthews. Ms. Chase cleverly provides the connection between Owen’s scientific interest in the meteor showers and Brooke’s desire to view the stars through an artistic lens. The author also uses this scene to give insight into the intelligent, shy character of Owen Shaughnessy and compares it with Brooke’s open, easy going personality.

Owen and Riley Shaughnessy are twins. Ms. Chase does a fabulous job with the conversations between the brothers – it’s brutally honest at times--and their twin connection. Rock star Riley always senses when his quiet, shy brother needs to talk or FaceTime. This is one of my favorite conversations between the brothers. Owen has followed Riley’s advice and is dating Brooke.

‘That’s what I am trying to do here,” Riley snapped. ‘A girl like her…Owen, you’re my brother-my twin brother-and I love you, but Brooke is way out of your league!”

‘Out of my league? He paused. ‘You know, when I did talk to you about her, you did everything you could to encourage me to get to know her! And know that I have—“

Riley sighed. ‘The way you described her and the way she is…..let’s just say I didn’t envision her to be this… this…” ‘This what?” Owen asked, teeth clenched. v ‘She reminds me of those girls in school—all cool attitude with a hint of bitchiness. Do you remember how girls like that used to torment the shit out of you in school? Why—why---would you even want to associate with someone like her?”

‘She’s nothing like that,” Owen replied defensively.

Riley shook his head dismissively. ‘She is going to mess with you and break your heart.”

A Sky Full of Stars is an emotional, passionate journey with an emphasis on the themes of loss and forgiveness. Owen believes that he is socially awkward. I liked that Brooke saw him as shy, not awkward. She recognized that although Owen was brilliant, he needed help managing the details and social activities for an upcoming weekend trip to Nevada. I loved how the author compared Owen’s scientific approach to star gazing with Brooke’s desire to paint the stars.

Samantha Chase continues to explore how the death of Lillian Shaughnessy has affected each member of her family. Lillian understands that Owen is extremely intelligent and supports his desire to learn about science. My favorite scenes in the book were when Owen remembered that his Mom encouraged him to reach for the stars and be the best person he could be. Owen associated the stars with his mother’s love.

Ms. Chase creates one of a kind characters that appeal to me. The attraction between Brooke and Owen was apparent during their first conversation. Samantha Chase includes a superhero thread throughout the novel from Owen and Riley’s childhood which emphasizes the twins’ perceived roles in their family. Owen was Clark Kent to Riley’s Superman. Brooke’s faith in Owen and a superbly written heart-to heart conversation with his father enabled Owen to reconcile his feelings. Brooke’s uncle, Owen’s sister Darcy and Riley play pivotal roles throughout the novel. Readers of the Shaughnessy series will adore the cleverly written surprises are included in the last few chapters of the book.

My favorite part of A Sky Full of Stars? When Owen finally understood that he was Brooke’s superhero! Yay Owen!

If you enjoy authors Kristan Higgins, Donna Alward and Debbie Mason—you will love A SKY FULL OF STARS!

Susan's Review of Always On My Mind by Samantha Chase-- Magnolia Sound #10

Returning to Magnolia Sound was never part of the plan. Then again, Parker Bishop rarely had one. Yet after confessing her love to her best friend right before his wedding, she needs time to lick her wounds from the disastrous scene that unfolds. After the unsympathetic welcome she receives from her parents and siblings, Parker finds herself absentmindedly driving through town in search of a place to stay.

That’s when she spots the flier and a familiar name…

Ethan Harlow enjoys the peace and quiet. Unfortunately, finding a moment of it becomes impossible when the flier he posts for a roommate brings Parker crashing into his life. Of course, he remembers her from high school. It’s impossible to forget little miss popular who was always the center of attention. All he wanted was to split the rent and keep to himself. Instead, Parker transforms his home and makes him question the dreams he gave up out of fear of stepping out of his comfort zone.

The attraction they feel to one another makes crossing the line from roommates to lovers seem inevitable. But the more Parker encourages Ethan to pursue his dreams, the less likely it becomes that they can have any kind of future together. Can they find a way to claim their happily ever after or will their individual paths make a future impossible?

Ethan Harlow is shocked to learn his high school crush Parker Bishop has returned to Magnolia Sound and needs a place to stay. She has relatives—lots of them, doesn’t she?? Ethan reluctantly agrees to let Parker move in---and she turns his life sideways!!

Always on My Mind is an opposites attract romance and more importantly a story of family relationships. Parker’s place in her family is cast in stone—she’s perceived as spoiled, flaky, and impulsive. She’s never had a full time job and her family fears she will never settle into a career. Ethan moved back to Magnolia to care for his late father. He is a college science professor who is a bit of a nerd and sticks to his routine.

Samantha Chase’s dynamic characters draw me into her novels. Love the complicated relationships between the Coleman and Bishop families in this series. The conversations between Parker and her sister are brutally honest and it was easy to imagine Parker being overwhelmed, stressed and hurt. I felt for Parker-she was trying to rebuild her life and her family couldn’t let go of their perception of her. They couldn’t see her strengths. These scenes were emotional and so very well written.

Loved the how the tentative friendship between Parker and Ethan led to sparks of attraction which resulted in a sweet romance. I wondered how free- spirited Parker and routine -oriented Ethan would work-loved that they were exactly what each other needed! Ethan is a quiet, thoughtful man and during the novel—he turned out to be the perfect swoony hero for Parker! Just loved him! Both characters listened to and supported each other – and these strengths enabled them to grow personally and professionally. Loved the plot twists and the Easter Eggs hidden throughout the novel—this is special treat for the author’s long time readers!

Samantha Chase explores several themes throughout this novel—there is conflict and drama, passion and honest conversation—all the elements that I adore in a novel. Adored Parker and Ethan and was so invested in their journey. Small town romance readers--this is the book you've been waiting for!

He’s a former Navy SEAL from the school of hard knocks. She’s a cheery wedding planner writing a guide to happily ever afters. Who knew cupid’s arrow could come in the form of a five-pound bag of flour?

When Daisy Sinclair gleefully offers to help her brother come up with the perfect proposal, she has no idea how time-consuming the project will become. Or, how it would make her the target of mockery from one rather grumpy former SEAL. Xander thinks he’s got her all figured out. She is determined to prove him wrong. Just because she’s more cheer than sneer doesn’t give him the right to pass judgment on her.

As the son of a woman who walked away from her family, Xander Madden believes he’s destined to follow in her footsteps. Which makes Daisy’s ridiculously chipper ramblings about the wonders of love all the more irritating. Still, there’s something about her that he can’t ignore. Although… he probably should, considering every time he opens his mouth, he says the wrong thing.

Just when Xander thinks he can avoid the trappings of her sunny disposition, Daisy smacks him with a five-pound bag of flower and suddenly she’s all he can think about. The pair have nothing in common except an undeniable attraction. Is a future for them possible when Daisy’s looking for forever and Xander can’t even commit to tomorrow?

Samantha Chase creates the perfect story for wedding planner Daisy Sinclair and ex-Navy Seal Xander Madden. The entertaining banter between the engaging heroine and grumpy hero and their off the charts chemistry drew me into the story immediately.

The pairing of Daisy and Xander surprised me. The words sweet, helpful and family describe Daisy. She loves her job at Meet Me at the Altar and all things romance. Xander has left the Navy and has started a security business—he’s all about work and structure. He’s not into commitments or family. Xander misjudges Daisy—he thinks she’s way over the top with her ideas of romance and wedding proposals- until Daisy mistakes Xander for a burglar and smacks him in the jaw with a 5 pound bag of flour!

Loved the author’s version of the couple’s meet cute! After being smacked by a bag of flour Xander sees Daisy in a different light and realizes that he is attracted to her. The push-pull of the relationship as perfectly written as Xander is not quite sure what do with his feelings. Samantha Chase digs deep with Xander—he’s a complicated character with a lot of baggage. I could feel Xander’s very real attraction towards Daisy and his fear of taking the next step. And I absolutely loved that Daisy turned the tables on Xander! Loved that she was sassy, honest and forthright and that combination wowed Xander.

The Proposal Playbook contains the perfect blend of emotion, romance and conflict. Daisy and Xander’s story will tug at your heart strings in such a good way. I was invested in this story from page one and rooted for this couples romance. Can’t wait for the next book in the Meet Me at the Altar series!!!

His for the Holidays by Samantha Chase is now live!

Hannah Christy was eager to head home and devour her treats in solitude, while doing some prep work for the promotion she was vying for. Those plans came to a screeching halt... along with the elevator.... trapping her inside with her sexy neighbor.

After being trapped with his match-making family over Thanksgiving, getting stuck in an elevator was a welcome reprieve for Gage Lawson.

If it was up to him, he would gladly stay stranded well into the new year. Especially since his neighbor has a whole treasure trove of ideas on how to pass the time. The best Christmas cookies he's ever tasted. Delicious spiced wine. Fun getting-to-know-you games. It's the most holiday merriment he's had in a long while.

Somewhere in the midst of it all, Gage comes up with the perfect plan. A fake romance to help make both their family get-togethers more jolly! To his surprise, Hannah agrees to be his for the holidays. Yet with the mistletoe in full bloom, and her on his arm, Gage soon realizes their little Christmas show isn't enough. He wants her for real... and forever.

Roast the chestnuts and hang the stockings, Gage has a plan! With the help of the 55 and over residents, magical flurries, and a never-ending supply of hot cocoa with extra marshmallows, he's determined to show Hannah that Christmas is the most wonderful time of year to fall in love.

Samantha Chase’s His for the Holidays has all the feels—engaging characters, a fabulous meet cute, fast paced storyline and lots of Christmas cheer!

Interior designer Hannah Christy never imagined that she’d be trapped in an elevator with her sexy neighbor Gage Lawson. Or that they would share secrets and bond over tins of homemade cookies, bottles of wine and a laugh out loud game of truth or dare! Hannah’s life is turned upside down when she’s not offered a promotion; instead she’s been given a few weeks off and her consolation prize is a small out of state project. Not what she was expecting…. At All.

Gage Lawson is a swoony hero—in fact he’s one of my favorite Samantha Chase characters. With his camel color coat, perfectly styled hair and handsome face—he’s what dreams are made of! And he can cook! One of my favorite lines in the book is when Gage invites a devastated Hannah for waffles “Waffles make everything better. Trust me.”

Hannah agrees to spend the holidays with Gage and his family. Loved Gage’s family—his over the top matchmaking sisters and Mom added so much warmth and laugh out loud moments to this novel. Loved the holiday competition at Gage’s mom’s over 55 community—it was fierce!

Loved the Hallmark feel of this novel – the tree trimming parties, hot cocoa, sledding and snow! It really got me in the Christmas spirit. Samantha Chase incorporates several unexpected plot twists which raise the bar in this story. The couple’s journey wasn’t easy—with Hannah’s career crisis and Gage’s matchmaking family—that made me root for their Happily Ever After!

Hannah and Gage’s story captivated me when she offered Gage a homemade cookie! His For the Holidays is a must read for this holiday season! Grab a mug of hot cocoa and add lots of marshmallows (and maybe a cookie or two!) and enjoy this sweet romantic holiday novel!

Susan's Review of Snowy Ever After by Samantha Chase & Stefanie London - - A Holiday Story

Snowy Ever After by Samantha Chase & Stefanie London is now live!

What could be better than a holiday wedding?
How about two?

Join bestselling authors Samantha Chase and Stefanie London for a whole lot of love this holiday season with Snowy Ever After!

With some of your favorite Magnolia Sound and Patterson's Bluff residents, we can guarantee you'll get all those small town, holiday feels with guaranteed happily ever afters and I Do's!

WEDDING WONDERLAND by Samantha Chase:

SAVE THE DATE!
You are cordially invited to the wedding of Mia Kingsley and Austin Coleman.
Or you will be if a snowstorm doesn't blanket the town with piles of fresh snow, making the trip to the chapel near impossible.
But the Coleman family is not about to let a measly little storm ruin Mia and Austin's perfect day. After all, Magnolia Sound is just the place for a perfect wedding wonderland.

DESTINED FOR FOREVER by Stefanie London

Romantic comedy screenwriter, Lily Dunn, watches her life go from happily ever after to crappily ever after when she gets dumped on live television.

Facing her overprotective family at her cousin's wedding is not ideal. They think she's not cut out for cutthroat Hollywood. How can she prove she's moved on? Pretend to have a new man, of course. The only rule is: keep it fake.

But the chemistry with her former high school crush burns hotter than an open fire. Can two bruised and battered hearts find the kind of love that only happens in the movies?

Wedding Wonderland –Samantha Chase

Author Mia Kingsley is concerned. She knows that it takes months to finish a book and that weddings take months to plan. So why has she agreed to her fiancĂ© Austin Coleman’s plan to get married in six weeks during the Christmas holidays?

Loved that this novel blended the excitement, the stress and the last minute wedding craziness with laughter, love and family. Enjoyed the cameo appearances by the Meet Me at the Altar ladies: Skye, Leanna and Josie.

It looks like Mia’s wedding wish to be barefoot on the beach is about to come true ... until it starts to snow! Magnolia Sound is blanketed under 2 feet of snow! Things are looking pretty grim; the wedding is canceled, guests are stranded at airport and Mia and Austin are devastated. The couple is unaware that their family and friends are about to spread a bit of Christmas magic their way!

Samantha Chase scores a hat trick with the heartfelt wedding vows, the close knit Coleman family and the romantic setting. Mia and Austin are my favorite Magnolia couple. Their opposites attract romance drew me into The Way the Story Goes and this novella continues their romance without missing a beat! I teared up when Austin imagined his grandfather smiling at him and giving him his blessing on his wedding day –just the right blend of sentiment and emotion! Loved catching up with the Coleman’s and the couple’s friends as they joined together to create a magical wedding celebration!

Wedding Wonderland is celebration of family – grab a mug of hot chocolate and enjoy!

Destined For Forever-- Stefanie London

What could be worse---getting dumped by your boyfriend on national TV or sitting next to your high school crush on an airplane? Lily Dunn’s dilemma drew me into this entertaining holiday romance.

Stefanie London is a new to me author. I adored this character driven novel and the smart, witty back and forth banter between Lily and Sean Hutcherson. Sean Hutcherson was Lily’s secret high school crush. They shared one passionate kiss and Sean has been the inspiration for every romantic hero Lily has written. Swoon!

Sean offers to be Lily’s diversion tactic—fake boyfriend- for the weekend family wedding they are attending. Stefanie London adds just the right amount of drama and passion in the couple’s relationship. Although Lily and Sean’s chemistry sizzles, Lily reminds herself throughout the story that the relationship is pretend even though she is finding Sean hard to resist. There’s lots of love, laughter and celebration in this story too. Loved the scene where Lily wants to make a snowman – Sean teases her and the snowballs fly!

Destined For Forever has all the feels—it’s an entertaining, perfectly paced story full of charming characters set during the holiday season. Loved that both characters were at a crossroads-professionally and romantically-and that new beginnings were within their grasp. I enjoyed every word and am going to return to Patterson’s Bluff to read about the characters I met in this novel!
