I am a Julianne Maclean fan. I have followed her from
the historical romance stories. I do not do that very often.
But she started a series called The Color of Heaven.
It sounded so interesting and I have always been glad
that I gave it a chance.

I bought the audio version of A Curve in the Road.
I have bought most of her contemporary stuff for listening to.
She seems have great taste in narrators. Coleen Marlo was a
new listen to me. She did a good job!

The story was quite compelling to me. I had a hard time
turning it off.....I wanted to keep going. The characters
that you got to know were terrific.

I will only add, there is a lot of story. A Curve in the
Road is just over 7 hours long to listen to. But there was
no slow time. It was one shocking revelation, one crisis,
one secret, one mystery....after another.
There is a lot of story. I did enjoy it.
And Julianne Maclean continues to be an
automatic listen for me.

Each story defines the importance of every person

the reader will gasp in awe. When things start to

so many ways. None of us ever knows how many

people we effect. But Julianne MacLean will remind

you to live your life the best you can. Because you

are making a difference to someone else.

 Any given day. Every little choice.

All the moments that make up our lives

make a difference in someone else's life.

Riley and Lois are happy and in love.

Parenting two small children

and excitedly expecting their third one.

Jenn and Jake are expecting their

first child. Also happily in love.

But the two couples are very different.

You will find yourself conflicted reading

this story. As the tale winds up, its hard

to believe all that has happened.

Its a story of faith, love, trust,

forgiveness and the wonder of life.

I have enjoyed the audio version of this entire 

series. Sarah Naughton, Graham Halstead

and Samara Naeymi are the narrators of
Color of Joy. They did a great job.
I like audio books and I thoroughly enjoy

when they have more than one telling

the story. It adds depth and feeling to it.

The stories all wind and connect together.

But they are easily stand alone reads. You will

not miss anything by picking any story from

the series to start with.

This is book 8 of the Color of Heaven series.

I have been reading Julianne MacLean for so long.

Starting with her historical romance.
I have always liked her writing.

That includes this series.
The books in this series connect, one to the next

and then on in the stories. But, each one is easily

a stand alone story. They are inspirational, emotional

and thoughtful.
The Color of the Season is the story of Josh Wallace. A policeman.

He is a good guy. That keeps finding the wrong women.
As you can imagine, he finally finds the right one. But

he sure does have to go through a lot to get to her.

Is he brave enough to follow? Can he help a family

from his childhood to find their way? Is the whole

thing a dream?
It's a story that will set you to thinking on your

own life choices. Actually, every story in this

series does that.
I recommend just that, the whole series.
The audio versions are so well done. They often

have more than one narrator when the story calls

for it. Which is the case for this one.
Graham Halstead and Jennifer O'Donnell

do the narration for The Color of the Season.

 All the narration is very good. Easy to listen to.

Lisa and I wanted to try something a bit different this week. We both love to listen to audio books. Lisa listened while she sews and I listen on my daily 90 minute commute to work. We were pleasantly surprised that we were both listening to Julianne MacLean's The Color of Hope.

Susan's Book Review:
I enjoyed listening to The Color of Hope.

Julianne MacLean's story of twin sisters separated at birth is an emotional and captivating tale which will capture the readers or listeners attention from the first chapter. The sisters led very different lives and had different experiences. Each sister learned from the other as the story unfolded. The last two hours of the book were excellent. I listened to each word and waited to see what was going to happen. I was surprised at the ending--pleasantly surprised. Thought the author was heading down a different path. I recommend this audio to all who are looking for an excellent read or listen!

I enjoyed Jennifer O'Donnell's narration was excellent. Her voice evoked passion and anger at times while expressing frustration and sadness at other times.

I am a long time fan of Julianne MacLean stories, though before this series I associated her more with historical romance. The Color of Hope is a contemporary novel and her newest addition to The Color of Heaven Series. This terrific series has held up very well, with each new book. The stories are connected, but also can be read as stand alone reads.

The Color of Hope is a wonderful story. A story about people and life. It is the kind of story that will give you things to think about in your own life. Not lessons really, and it won't make you feel like a failure or a mess. This story reminds us to count our blessings. To remember that every life has struggles, challenges as well as soaring happiness. Much of the feel of the stories is from the heart, from deep inside people.

Lisa's Audio Review:

Jennifer has a voice perfect for audio books. She can make it clear who is speaking without trying to imitate a man or different women or whatever. I like all that about her. Her voice is slightly gravelly. I really think she does a terrific job with the narration.
