Long Story Short - Movie Review

 Long Story Short

Movie Review

Released July 2021

I have just watched this movie on Netflix.

I have looked at it for a while. So many times,

I have movies on my list, but never want to

commit the two hours to watch them.

This one, two hours well spent. Such a funny story

with just the right amount of other feelings in it too.

Romance. Confusion. Friendship. Love. Fear.

I cannot say it would necessarily be a romantic

couples movie. But there is plenty of romance.

Also, reminders.

Guard your marriage. Protect it and never

take it for granted.

Same with your friends & family.

Make time for them always.

Don't wait for them to call you and

don't just call when you need a

shoulder or a favor.

We only get 24 hours every day.

We never know how many of those days we have.

Do not be afraid to spread love, kindness & laughter.

If you have an afternoon and you are looking for a

movie to watch, go check out Long Story Short.

Philomena - Movie Review

 Philomena

Movie Review

Philomena is inspired by the true story of a

woman named Philomena Lee.

It was released November 2013.

So it will be easy to find when you

want to watch it.

It's an emotional story with the kind of

humor that comes with humans.

Philomena finds herself as a teenager

expecting a baby. Seems like such a

common story. But not if you are

Philomenas child. I thoroughly enjoyed

watching the whole story.

Of course, you really can't go

wrong with Judi Dench.

Table 19 - Movie Review

Table 19
Movie Review
★★★★★
I have been watching a lot of movies lately. I miss going
to the theater so much! And the best thing my library has
ever done is come up with curbside service.
Table 19 came out in 2017. I don't remember watching it
before. It is my kind of movie. So I probably did. Now
that I have watched it today, I realize what a quirky,
weird kind of movie it is. So fun, romantic, sad, silly,
hopeful and, oh did I mention, fun!!
I could recommend it for a girls evening or date night.
Either way. Very little cursing, I dont remember any
nudity. But it is not a family movie. Just a sweet
movie to remind us all that we arent perfect, we
are lucky to find someone to love and marriage
requires compromise and patience and determination.
Watch it and fall in love with your special someone again.

Dumplin' - Movie Review

Dumplin'
Netflix Movie Review
☆☆☆☆☆

This isn't a romance movie. But it surely
is all about love.
Mom is not the horror show you are
expecting. But she has her problems.
Dumplin' also has her lessons to learn.

Oh what a fun sweet emotional movie.
I loved it. Highly recommended.
Its probably not just what you are expecting.
But you will be glad you invested the
hours in it. On Netflix.
It also reminded me that Dolly Parton
might be the best person on the planet.

The Greatest Showman - Movie Review

The Greatest Showman
Movie Review
☆☆☆☆☆

I wont go into the story of this movie.
No chance to do that without spoilers.

The movie is huge. Everything. The soundtrack.
The dancing. The acting and characters.
The romance!!
Such a great romance!!
So much romance!
I don't know anything about
PT Barnum. And I really don't care to.
This movie is great all by itself.
I highly recommend it.

Inside Out movie review

Inside Out
Movie Review

My granddaughter and I went to see this one on opening

weekend. I know. You think we were crazy, don't you? We expected crowds.

We went to a theater with reserved seating. I avoid that theater

because aside from the seating, they are horrible.

But we had our seats. They are the recliners. So off we went.

Of course, we were surrounded by families with young children.

I know, you are waiting for me to grumble, aren't you? Nope, not a bit.

It was fabulous!

Kids never fail to amaze me. The story of Inside Out

is really rather complicated. But I noticed throughout the movie,

the kids around us got it. They totally understood the story and

what was happening. It was really wonderful to listen to them.

But of course, when the movie was over, my granddaughter asks

what was my favorite part and I hardly remember anything.

So we "had" to go see it again. About a month after it came out.

This time, I paid attention. And realized it was a fabulous movie.

Just wonderful. For grown ups and kids. Really. There was humor

and story line for all ages. I highly recommend it for everyone.

All the characters are fabulous. It surprised me when I

thought about it, that really,  these 5 feelings cover it all.

I think my favorite would be Joy.

Of course, she is the star of the show.

But my favorite thing is the lesson she

taught me. Our lives can't be only happiness. We cannot

keep sadness out completely. Sadness has a place in us.

Oh and we saw it in 3D the first time. Don't waste your money.

It didn't make a big difference. Some movies, it's worth it.

But not this one.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - Movie Review

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Movie Review
Opened 6 March 2015
Running time - 122 minutes

We have been looking forward to this one since we
heard about it. The same great cast from The Best Exotic
Marigold Hotel came together for it.
That happens so rarely. There is one main addition.
Richard Gere. He really fit in well.
Just a little over view.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has been a wonderful
success. They are looking for an investor to buy an
additional property so they can expand. That's the story foundation.
Then, there are the people. The wonderful characters
that are taking advantage of the final chapter in life.
They make the most of it all. Love, romance,
business opportunities, friendships, marriage.
They make a family.
They look after each other. They have kind of
adopted Sonny and his fiancée, Sunaina.
There are a number of story lines in this show.
Which kept my interest the whole time.

Its a wonderful romantic fun movie for date night.
We felt like it was a perfect set up for a third one
in this series. Which is ok with us.
