Susan's Review of Surprise Christmas Family By Renee Ryan

Can a very merry mistake lead to a perfect holiday?

He isn’t the man she’s searching for…

but he could be the one she needs.

Hope Jeffries is determined to gain full custody of her twin nieces from their absentee dad. But when she finally confronts Dr. Walker Evans, Hope discovers she has the wrong man—this handsome Colorado widower is the girls’ uncle!

While Hope and Walker try to locate his brother, can they also give their nieces a perfect family Christmas?

Renee Ryan’s Surprise Family Christmas is a sweet story filled with family, love and holiday traditions!

Hope Jefferies and her twin nieces have travelled to Colorado in search of their father. Hope believes that Dr. Walker Evans married her sister and is the twin’s father. Hope is stunned to learn that Walker’s brother Brent was involved with her sister, not Walker.

Loved this plot choice as it allowed Hope and Walker to work together to care for their nieces. I enjoyed how Hope and Walker revealed bits and pieces of their past to each other—their conversations were honest and very emotional. Hope and Walker were worlds apart-in terms of upbringing and experiences- their common goal solidified their relationship.

I look forward to reading more books by Renee Ryan as I loved the characters, the importance of family and the many surprises throughout this heartwarming novel!

About THE WAY THE STORY GOES

Thriller writer Mia Kingsley has been hit with a serious case of writer’s block and she needs a little peace and quiet. A beach front property in Magnolia Sound seemed like the perfect escape and just the change of scenery she needs to get the words flowing again. That is, until her noisy neighbor starts running power tools and blasting music at all hours of the day and night. Before long, the next victim in her story starts to bear an uncanny resemblance to the contractor next door.

Austin Coleman never wanted to come back to Magnolia Sound. But sometimes, life takes an unexpected turn and the only way to get back on your feet is to go home. His plan is to avoid all things connected to his past, and renovating a beach house in the off-season is just the way to do that—there’ll be no neighbors and no distractions. Or so he thought until he almost maims his sexy neighbor with a flying sink. Despite his best efforts, trouble follows everywhere he goes.

At first she wanted to kill him. Now she wants to kiss him. Sometimes you just have to wait and see where the story goes.

Susan's Review of For the Love of Ivy by Cindy Kirk

A holiday bliss that existed only in her dreams…

Academic Lauren Van Meveren isn’t one to get lassoed into being a nanny for a seven-year-old girl. The PhD had one goal when she stepped her stiletto in Sweet River, Montana; complete her research project and get back to civilization.

To her surprise, she quickly found herself enchanted by this foreign world of cowboys, ranches and seasonal traditions that tugged at her heartstrings.

All widower Seth Anderssen wants for Christmas is a temporary nanny for his injured daughter. Touched by his SOS, Lauren steps up.

The sizzling attraction between the two lonely hearts can’t be denied. It’s soon clear to everyone they belong together. But will a promise made long ago keep Lauren from a lifetime of happiness in this sexy cowboy’s arms?

Cindy Kirk’s For the Love of Ivy is a must read for the holiday season!

Loved the sizzling chemistry between the couple in this slow burn, second chance love story. For the Love of Ivy has just the perfect amount of romance blended with great characters, honest conversations and relatable conflict.

Montana rancher Seth Anderssen is in a tough situation. He needs to find someone to care for his injured daughter Ivy during the holiday season. He asks his friend Lauren Van Meveren if she’d be able to help. Lauren has plans to spend the holidays alone working on her PhD dissertation. To sweeten the deal , Seth invites Lauren to spend Christmas Eve at his ranch. This invitation is a key element in the story as the couple’s mutual attraction is given a chance to develop.

For the Love of Ivy is an engaging story. I enjoyed all of the holiday themes and traditions in the story—these added to the novel’s appeal. Cindy Kirk writes fabulous small town romances. Her characters and their journeys make her one of my must read authors. Seth’s promise and Ivy’s wish drew me into the story and I enjoyed every word.

Lauren, Seth and Ivy’s story has all the feels—it’s a poignant, heartwarming and romantic read. Settle in with a mug of hot chocolate and enjoy this fabulous holiday romance!
