The Meddler - Movie Review

 The Meddler

Movie Review

Released September 2015

I love mother-daughter movies. Especially when

they have a happy ending. It's a wonderful story.

Full of love. All different types of love.

When you have to be brave, you step out of

your comfort zone and say yes to everything.

I loved this movie. Say yes and watch it.

The Christmas Jar - Movie Review

Christmas Jars

Movie Review

                                                                           ☆☆☆☆☆

I remembered hearing about this movie when
it was in theaters. But I never got around to
seeing it. Then just the other day, I was scrolling
around looking for something to watch.
Since theaters have been closed, I have gotten
very good at streaming movies. It's easy and
something I had never done before the covid.
So I watched Christmas Jars
It was the story you would probably expect.
But when you're watching. The emotions,
the families, the situations, the lessons we
can all learn, come to play.
I always find a movie like this touches me.
Even though I can tell you the basic premise
of the story before the movie even starts.
As I watch, it still touches my heart. Makes
me laugh. Memories of my own come to mind.
I know I was meant to watch it. It lifted my heart.
And gave me the push to pay it forward.
As much as I can. It really doesn't have to cost
anything or be a big deal.
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season.
If you're looking for a movie to watch some evening,
I highly recommend Christmas Jars.
For the whole family.

Movie Review- A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Movie Review
☆☆☆☆☆

We all know the wonder of Mr Rogers.
Has there ever been another well known person
like him? With such kindness and honesty?
So much care for humans. Love for children.

The movie isnt just the story of Mr Rogers.
It gives a little insight into his wife.
And the relationship they had.
Then, there is a whole other story!
Lloyd Vogel.
What a story!!
Not just his story. A hard family relationship story.
But then the story of the relationship between
Lloyd and Fred Rogers.
I can only presume there are many other
stories like his. Many other people that had their
lives touched so wonderfully by Mr Rogers.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is a wonderful
movie. My husband and I were held spellbound by it.

I highly recommend finding an afternoon to go
watch this one. It will make your day so much better.

Movie Review - Love Happens

Love Happens
Movie Review
☆☆☆☆☆

I found this movie as I scrolled through Prime.
I don't find much on there. I love to rewatch
seasons of Amazing Race and Survivor.
And of course, Downton Abbey!
But today, I found a movie that made me stop
and check it out.
I am not a big Jennifer Aniston fan. I am a giant
Friends fan though. And it's the only thing I have
ever liked her in.

But she finally got one right. Love Happens is a
sweet romantic movie. There is humor. But mostly
it is feelings. Up, down and all around.
I totally enjoyed it. If you are a Prime member,
give it a look!

Going in Style - Movie Review

Going In Style
Movie Review

Going in Style was release 7 April 2017

Three fun actors in a hilarious movie.
It sure isn't often you get to say that!

The three retired guys are best buddies and
find out they are going to be without their
pension checks.

There are several terrific stories weaving
in and through the main storyline.

So the emotions are all there. And you will
get plenty of laughs.

I highly recommend this one for date
night or movie night with friends.
It's terrific.

Gifted - Movie Review

Gifted
Movie Review

Gifted has been released 12 April 2017.

I wound up seeing this one twice. Once by myself and
again with my mom. It's exactly what you think it will be.

Terrific.

I can imagine how confusing and nearly impossible it
must be to raise a gifted child. This is a lovely movie.
Brought together by wonderful actors.
Chris Evans and McKenna Grace are the main stars.
They have such chemistry and connection it's
hard to believe they are acting.

I hope you will enjoy watching this one.

Austenland - Movie Review

Austenland
Movie Review

Released in 2013

I really did not know what to expect from this movie.
Keri Russell stars as the sweet, obsessed Jane Hayes.
Jane loves Mr Darcy and everything Jane Austen.
She finds out about a place to go and completely
immerse yourself into the life of Darcy era.
But, of course, its modern time.

Austenland turned out to be a really fun movie.
When you watch, keep your eyes peeled all around.
There are little touches (and big touches) all over!
I love reading romance stories even though I
usually know who is going to wind up together
pretty quickly.
But the greatest part about this movie is I wasn't
sure about who she would be with in the end!
I loved it. Enjoyed the whole silly movie.
Great girls night movie.

I borrowed this copy from my local library.

Hidden Figures

Hidden Figures
Movie Review

I love going to the movies. I especially love
going to see movies telling a true story.
The only thing that makes it all the better
than a true story at the movies is when the
true story is about brave people that have
made America great. The brave from the
military, first responders, scientists.....
And then, you have this story......

Three brilliant, strong, amazing women.
The men that supported them.
Loved them. And were in awe of them.
The courage, patience and humility that they
showed made the NASA center strong enough
to put America in front of the race for space.
They helped to make America great.

What a day for Octavia Spencer!! I was
sitting there waiting to see a movie she is in.
Then I got to see two trailers for future movies
with her! Gifted. The Shack. They both look
fabulous!! I have them both on my list of
movies not to miss.

PS.....There is a sweet wonderful
romantic story too.

Dear Eleanor - Movie Review

Dear Eleanor
Movie Review

When I saw this movie in the Redbox machine,
I had no memory of it being at the theaters.
But it has several rather well known actors
in it, so it must have been.
It's a sweet fun story of two best teenage
friends. A tragedy drives  them to travel across
the country. Their aim was to meet former
first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt. Along the way,
they meet family and strangers that
make the trip worthwhile. For everyone.
Each of the characters have a personal epiphany.
It was so funny at times. Then other times,
it was eye opening. A reminder to all of us.
Don't forget what is really most important.
I enjoyed it very much and I would recommend
it to just about anyone.

Movie Review - Old Fashioned

Movie Review
Release 12 February 2015
1 hour 55 minutes running time

I went expecting a truly old fashioned love story.
It is just a little different. These two people have pasts.
Not in a flattering way.
They are working thru their own issues.
Together and separately.
His wonderful Aunt Zella helps the both of them.

They live in a typical small town. They have the
typical variety of friends. The story is such a real one.
We all have to learn lessons from our pasts.
These two learned lessons to make their lives
better. Its an uplifting movie you will feel in your heart.

I was surprised at the story. Pleasantly so.
The tagline for the movie is,
Chivalry makes a comeback.

Clay & Amber challenge each other to find ways to
flirt, date and be romantic with slightly uncommon
boundaries. It's okay to say no. It's acceptable to draw
a line for yourself. And stick with it.
I would say this is a movie for teenagers.
Boys and girls. For parents and teens together.
And certainly for date night.

My husband and I really enjoyed it. I expected to. But it
turned out to be very different from what I expected.
My husband did not expect to, so he was happily surprised.

Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it.
Right is right, even if no one is doing it.
