Barefoot at Moonrise by Roxanne St Claire (Edited review)

Barefoot at Moonrise
by Roxanne St Claire

This is book two of the Timeless series.
What a great idea for a series of grown ups falling
in love. Really, love stories are wonderful. But when
they are in my age group. They have been around
the block. They know whats what. And they know about
falling in love.
So Beth Endicott grew up on the right side of the tracks.
In a well off family. With a very domineering father.
As a result, Beth has made her own way. Started her
own business and is making it successful herself. Not the
easy way. None of her adult life has been the easy way.
Not since high school when her boyfriend broke up with
her using cruel words and blame . Then an unhappy marriage.
A harsh miscarriage. The horrible divorce.
And now, she is at her high school reunion.
Ken Cavanaugh is the boyfriend that destroyed Beth in high
school with his horrible break up. His beloved father was killed
at a construction site owned by Beths father. Ken has spent his
life blaming Mr Cavanaugh. He has not been about to let go of
the hatred. While he is satisfied with his life as a fireman and
paramedic, he knows he is missing something. That family
life. Then he sees Beth at the high school reunion. It's his
chance to apologize to her. For the terrible way her treated
her back then. But it only takes a short second to realize he is
still in love with her.
"She looked away and gnawed on her lower
lip. "I have....baggage," she finally said.
"Who doesn't? At our age, if we didn't
have baggage, we wouldn't have lived. We
can unpack it together."
Can they get over the past? Beth is Miss Independent. Beths father and
first husband taught her to never let anyone have any power over her
life or feelings. Can they get past all the hate and secrets? Can Beth let
herself love again? How can they have a relationship if Ken
can't be in the same room with her father?
"...spotted a pair of red and white high heels
tucked by the stairs the led to the sand.
He couldn't help smiling, because, hell,
this was better than Cinderella.
All he had to do was follow the footprints
in the sand."

I liked this story from the beginning. But at 23%, I fell
head over heels in love with it. Its not unusual for me
to weep a little here and there during a good love story.
But it is unusual for me to be surprised. It is unusual for
me to laugh out loud as I am crying. And it is very
unusual for me to finish a book in just over one day.
I highly recommend Barefoot at Moonrise. It caught
me completely off guard. I have enjoyed reading
Roxanne St Claire before. I loved book one of this
series. But I did not expect the deep feelings this
story caught up in me.

I am adding to my original review as I just finished
listening to Barefoot at Moonrise in audio form.
Oh my gosh, fabulous. I truly loved this story.
Easily my favorite Roxanne St Claire story. Period.
And it is wonderful either way. Reading or listening!
The narrator is wonderful. His name is BJ Harrison.
I prefer male narration in romance stories.
I highly recommend giving this one a try.
Completely enjoyed listening to this story after I
loved reading it so much too.

I was given my copy of this book in exchange
for an honest review.

Barefoot at Sunset by Roxanne St Claire - Kindle and Audio (Edited review)

Barefoot at Sunset
by Roxanne St Claire
Kindle and Audio versions

Being a woman in her 50s and a lover of
romance reading, I have wondered before.....
Why are all of the couples so young!? Love just out
of college is fine and all. But what about the rest of us?
Roxanne St Claire has written just the story for us.
This is the first in her new Timeless series.
Emma DeWitt has been stood up at the alter by her
boss. Typical story, right? Only Emma is in advertising
and she is the best thing that company has. She doesn't
know it though. Her confidence at an all time low, she decides
to go to the resort they were supposed to honeymoon at.
Of course, it is a disastrous idea.
Mark Soloman went to high school at Mimosa High School.
So many great memories. Overshadowed by so many
heartwrenching memories. Mark is back on the island for his
high school class reunion. He was widowed 16 years ago.
The love of his life, Julia and Mark were high school
sweethearts. And he cannot imagine why he is back here.
Mark has felt these 16 years that Julia sends him messages.
He feels like her spirit helps direct him.

I absolutely love the idea of romance reading with silver
foxes starring. The two of the them have life experience.
Not just him. But her too. They know more, have seen
more. Have different fears. And they have different ways
of dealing with these fears.
Mark Soloman has a brilliant way of dealing with fear.
This story was fun and hopeful and oh my goodness,
so so so romantic. Grown up romance. Not puppy love.

I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Being my age, I can't think how someone in her 20s
would get this book. It's romance after all. I have
loved reading young romance all these years. So
why wouldn't they?  But when we are young,
we are quite often less tolerant of things
sometimes, so I dont know. But I believe there is a
big group of hungry readers looking for this kind
of story. I highly recommend it.

I have just finished listening to this story
in its audio version. The narrator was new to me.
So I am ever suspicious. His name, yes it is a him.
Thank goodness. I am rather partial to male narration
with romance stories. His name is BJ Harrison. So first
off, I am not sure, male or female. But it was not long
into the story that I realized it was all ok. The story
I loved was in good hands. He did a great job.
If you are a fan of audiobooks or if you want to
give one a try, I recommend this one.
I enjoyed it very much.

I bought my copy from Amazon.

Space in his Heart by Roxanne St Claire

Space in his Heart
by Roxanne St Claire

Commander Deke Stockard has a job to do. Check over
every square inch, every little tiny spot of the next
space shuttle launch. Every detail. Peoples lives depend
on his job. But something isn't just right. Reports, detailed
descriptions aren't exactly as they should be. Deke needs
to find out why.

Then, Jessica Marlowe arrives. She has a job too. Her career
depends on this advertising campaign going smoothly.
She is charged with making America fall in love with the
space program again. She knows next to nothing about space
travel. But she knows what sells. Sex. Sex sells.
Deke Stockard is the new sexy face of the space program.

The biggest road block so far, Deke. He has absolutely
no interest or intention of being the sexy face of anything.
He has to solve the mysterious entries and orders that
make no sense. There is something going on.

It soon becomes obvious that he can use Jessicas help.
And she needs him to cooperate. Soon, they cant keep
their hands off each other. And time is running out for
the shuttle. Now, Deke is manning the next flight out.
They have to help each other, using everything they
can think of to solve the mystery.

Space in His Heart is a wonderful love story that
will get you excited again. And not just excited
about romance. We have to hope that Jessica
and Deke can figure it out. We have to hope that the
shuttle will make it back in one piece. We have to
hope that two very stubborn people can let go
and love.
This is one of Roxanne St Claires older stories.
But I enjoyed it. And I hope you will too.

Barefoot at Midnight by Roxanne St Claire

Barefoot at Midnight
by Roxanne St Claire

Barefoot at Midnight is
part of the Timeless series.

Law Monroe has lived his life never quite sure just
where he was headed or where he wanted to be.
His guardian angel, Jake, has passed away and now,
Law thinks he is sure where he is supposed to be.

Only problem is, Libby Chesterfield is certain that
she is supposed to be in the exact same place.

The two of them are drawn together, physically.
Emotionally, they are worlds apart. Both keeping
secrets from the other. Not sure who to trust.
They are both in the time of life looking to settle
down. But who will get control of that special place?

Can they find a way to trust each other? Will either
of them be able to compromise? Can they make
it all work for both of them? Will their family and
friends get out of the way or help them?

Barefoot at Midnight is another romance for
grown ups by Roxanne St Claire. They are all
three easy to read stand alone style. But they
are fun as a series too. Terrific characters that
move along through the series.
I hope you enjoy reading this story as Law and Libby
argue, kiss, eat, dance and solve a mystery in
order to find their way.

I bought my copy from Amazon.

Barefoot Bay Billionaires books 2 & 3 combo review-Audio

Seduction on the Sand
and
Scandal on the Sand
Audio versions

Seduction on the Sand is book 2 in the
Barefoot Bay Billionaires series.
Elliott Becker is part of a group of billionaires that plan to build a
baseball stadium on Barefoot Bay. Its his simple job to convince
Frank Cardinale to sell his land for a large sum of money. That's it.
That's all Elliott has to do.
But then, Frank Cardinale turns out to be Francesca (Frankie).
She also turns out to be stubborn, determined and gorgeous. Not
exactly what Elliott planned for.
Frankie is the goat herd who owns the goat farm that Elliott needs
to accommodate the parking for his baseball stadium.
The fact that she is falling in love with Elliott does not sway
Frankies plans. She promised her grandpa to keep this land in
the family. She will never break that promise. Not even for the
love of a handsome and good man like Elliott.
The fact that Elliott is falling in love with her does not change
his plans. He has a job to do. He cannot let his friends down.
So he has to find a way to make everyone happy.
Can Frankie forgive? Will Elliott find a way to please everyone?
What is the most important to either of them?

Scandal on the Sand is book 3 of the
Barefoot Bay Billionaires series.

Nathaniel Ivory has the nickname "Naughty Nate". He has earned it.
But now, he is trying to make a better name for himself.
He does not want to keep embarrassing his family.

About to take his turn at bat during a baseball game, he is pulled
to the side by Liza Lemanski. She is one determined woman. Liza
is only asking for Nates signature. No money. Nothing else from him.
Just sign away your parental rights. You will never see or hear from
us again. But of course, Nate is suspicious. Even if Liza weren't
beautiful,  sexy and smart. He would still have to find out more.
Liza just wants to know that she can live her life. Caring
for her little boy in quiet peace. Nate only wants to end the kind
of life when he is constantly paying someone off. He wants his
own kind of easy life.
Its quite a mystery. Two different stories. Which one is the truth?
With a little boys future and Nates new reputation at stake, its vital
to find out the truth. So Liza and Nathaniel join forces to find
out the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

There are three stories in this series. They all use the
same narrator, Kaleo Griffith. He does a fine job. Speaking
all the parts distinctly. I found him easy to listen to.

I bought these two stories from Audible.com.

Secrets on the Sand by Roxanne St Claire

by Roxanne St Claire

This is Book One of the
Barefoot Bay Billionaires series.
The kindle version of this one is free.

Zeke (Ezekiel the Geekiel) Nicholas does
not recall his high school years fondly. Though
there was one good memory. One memory he has
held onto all these years. All the years he has spent
using his "geekiel" talents to become a billionaire.
Mandy (Mandy the Magnificent) Mitchell had a very
different high school experience. She was the popular
one. The girl everyone knew and wanted to be around.
Sadly, Mandy does not remember herself being
the nicest of people.
Turns out Mandy was nicer than she thinks.
Frankie Cardinale was a freshman at Mimosa High
back in Mandys time. Mandy was kind to her and
Frankie has never forgotten. Mandy was also very
nice to Zeke, which is the one good memory he
has from high school.
Then, cut to the time of the story. Mandys life has
taken a series of turns she did not see coming. Now, she
finds herself working as a maid in her hometown.
There are people from her school days that never want
her to forget how easy her Mimosa High time was.

Zeke finds himself staying at the Barefoot Bay resort that
Mandy works in. He cant believe his luck when she comes
to his villa door. Loaded with cleaning supplies. To him,
she is still the most beautiful, desireable woman he has
ever seen.
Mandy wants to earn a new better life for herself. She
wants to work and make it happen. She has plans for
her own cleaning business.
Both Zeke and Mandy know how it feels to be kicked
when you are down. They have issues with trust and
self confidence.
Kinda makes you think they would be the
perfect couple, doesn't it? Can she let down her guard?
Can money buy happiness?
This is one of my favorite story types. One is a good
person. Who is poor. One is a good person that's rich.
Roxanne St Claire has written a fun,

romantic believable story. I enjoyed it.
And I look forward to the rest of the series.

I got my kindle copy from Amazon.
