The Hero by Robyn Carr - Audio version

 The Hero

by Robyn Carr

Audio Version

The Thunder Point series by Robyn Carr is

so good. I have read and listened to it before.

Now, I am at it again. Thunder Point sounds

like the most wonderful place. I can see it all

in my head. The people. The town. The beach.

The new houses going up. The new bait shop.

On and on. The thing about Book 3 is the title.

It's called The Hero. But there are so many heroes.

In every book from the series. But especially this one.

And young mother trying to survive big mistakes.

A prior military man that will always feel like he owes.

A widower that is in over his head with feelings and

challenges but he still finds his way.

There are others.

I try to never put spoilers in my reviews.

But I will say these things......

Therese Plummer is a terrific narrator.

You will never have a dull moment in Thunder Point.

And if you are anything like me, you will want to

move to Thunder Point every time you read

another part of the series.

Wildest Dreams by Robyn Carr - Audio version

Wildest Dreams
by Robyn Carr
Audio version

Wildest Dreams is Book 9 in
the Thunder Point series.

I have read most of the books from this series. They
are all wonderful. While they are connected. Either by
the location of Thunder Point or by characters that are
involved. They are easily stand alone stories.
Wildest Dreams is a terrific story of a couple of very tough
determined people. Lin Su has raised her son, Charlie
entirely on her own. She is a fierce protector for him.
She went to nursing school as she raised Charlie. Now
she can support him. She has to pinch pennies but she
can make it work.
Blake Smiley grew up in very hard times. He has pulled
himself into a position of financial success. A professional
triathlete with plans for his future.

Blake is attracted to Lin Su from the first minute
he sees her. But she is having no part of the flirting
or attraction. Blake is not ready to give up.
He feels like Lin Su is his meant to be.

Its all going well until Lin Su finds out that Charlie
has been digging into her past. She never wanted
her son to know much of it and so she kept it
from him. Her secrets are revealed and she is
embarrassed.

There are many important characters in this
story. They also have storylines running.
It is a sweet story of love and forgiveness.
Also life lessons like don't waste time. Don't blink.
Tell people that you love them when you have the
chance. Be thankful for the good days.
Therese Plummer is the narrator. She is very
popular for a good reason. Because she is
terrific. Easy to listen to.
I do recommend this one and the rest
of the series as well. Robyn Carr has
written a terrific series.
I bought my audible copy of Wildest Dreams
from Amazon.

One Wish by Robyn Carr Audio Version

One Wish
by Robyn Carr
Audio version

This is number 7 in the Thunder Point series.
Running time 9 hours 58 minutes.

I have listened to most of the books in this series.
I have been enjoying them all. But this one, One Wish,
is easily
my favorite. It's the best book I have listened
to in
a while. I love audible books. They are
very convenient for me.

Grace is a florist in Thunder Point. She works hard and loves
the work she does. She is also great with people.
A skill that is helping her build her business. Funny thing is,
no one in town knows where she came from. How she got
to be here. And no one seems to wonder about it. Grace fits
into this town wonderfully. She is happy and friendly.

Troy is a teacher at the high school in town. He has a
reputation. A good one. Troy is great with the students.
When he is not working at the school, he enjoys his time off.
He enjoys an active life. He has decided that Grace does
not have enough fun. Appointing himself her fun coach, they
slowly settle into a relationship. Getting to know each other and
have a lot of fun while they are at it.

Neither Grace or Troy are looking for a permanent relationship.
Graces past is full of drama and is very complicated. She is
happy to keep it all in the past. But we don't always get to
decide these things. While Graces past comes to the present,
Troy is realizing he is all in with their relationship. But maybe
it's more than he can handle.

Can Grace open up and allow someone new into her life circus?
Can Troy welcome someone new permanently into his feelings,
future and plans?
Grace is asking for help.  Something she has never done. Troy is
the guy that is always glad to help. But he isn't sure he can
manage this.

Robyn Carr is a wonderful story teller. They lend themselves
very well to audio form. Therese Plummer always does a
wonderful job with the narration. She manages very well
making each character distinct and recognizable. Without
sounding ridiculous. Not all narrators can do that.
I recommend her and this story.

The Wanderer by Robyn Carr - Audio version

The Wanderer is Book #1 of the Thunder Point Series.
I have read others from this series.
Obviously, very out of order.
But it doesn't hurt anything.
The Wanderer was still a terrific story.

It's the story of Cooper and Sarah. Sarah Dupre is an independent, intelligent and tough woman. She has been raising her
little brother, Landon.  Their parents were killed
when Landon was very little. It has been a hard road
for them both. Sarah is a coast guard helicopter pilot.
She has been single parenting
Landon for so long. When she fell for a guy.
Fell totally. And he wound up
to be a loser. Sarah is determined she does not need love.
She will never put herself in that position again. Ever.

Hank Cooper is also a helicopter pilot. He has roamed
the world far and wide. Working when he needed to. With no roots ever being planted.
He has been happy to go visit his family every so often.
Then move onto
the next country, job and adventure.
Coop finds himself in Thunder Point
after a good friend passes away.
Ben Bailey left everything to Hank.
So he feels obligated to settle things up from Ben's estate.
In the meantime, he finds Thunder Point is a terrific place.
The people are
great and welcoming.

Sarah & Cooper have no interest in anything but a
temporary relationship. And then cupid steps in.
Sometimes, you just cannot fight it.
It's a good story. Sets up everything for the
Thunder Point series. I have found I can't help but feel at
home in the small town. I feel like I could go visit anytime
I want to. It's written so well I can see it all in my head.

The narration is good. Her name is Therese Plummer.
She is easy to listen to. Sometimes, her ''male'' voices
are not the best. But over all, she is good to listen to.
I do recommend this series if you like small town reading.
And if you are looking for a series to listen to, I would
encourage you to give this one a try.

Review of The Hero by Robyn Carr

Book 3 in the Thunder Point series.
The Hero.

Actually, this wonderful story was full of heroes. Heroes here. Heroes there.
It was awesome. It was overflowing with Heroes.
So much so in fact, one of the heroes stories slipped over into the next book of the series.
This is a book that calls to me when I am trying to go to sleep,
"How can you sleep with all this going on?"
The book that taunts me when I am making dinner,
"I know what happens next and you don't, ha ha ha!"
The characters are so real and true that you pick up the phone to call them up to go out to lunch. Wait, did I say that?? No, I never really did that.

So much going on. The book did not have a moment of slow time.
It was all action, life, kids, construction, suspense, crisis and love.
Glorious wonderful love.
There is thunder and lightning, the beach, a small town more like a family.
Did I mention love? The story runneth over with great
people sharing love, advice and furniture.
I highly recommend this Robyn Carr story. I have not read the first
two books of the series. Or anything after Book 4. But it is easy
to fall in with who is who and the community of the story. Though,
I am pretty sure the rest of the series will probably also be wonderful.

Review of The Chance by Robyn Carr

"You're getting turned on." She put her card
back in her purse. "You just met a woman who
likes to cook and live in clean environs and
 you're actually getting turned on!"

This is book 4 of her Thunder Point Series.
I don't know what made me pick it up at the
library. But I am glad I did. Over all, very easy to read.
Interesting community, Thunder Point.
I was worried about jumping into the series
in the middle. There are a lot of characters in the
area. But it did not interrupt the flow of the story
at all. It was easy to pick up where people
belonged. I could also see there were a couple of
storylines I would like to read more about.

Laine & Eric were a terrific pair. There were a
couple of odd twists in their relationship. And its
not often that you will find an alpha female
story. But they seem great for each other.

We all have family issues. The trick is to find
the person you can love. The person that can be
supportive and encouraging, through family and
your past. The person that can accept you for all
your secrets and mistakes.

There is a side love story. Al & Rae Ann. Now their story
could have been an awesome one. Mystery and deep hidden
feelings and pasts. Even Rae Ann with people that have known her
forever. I kept wanting to know more about them.

I have read Ms Carr before, Four Friends. I enjoyed
that one as well. I don't think she will ever be an auto buy,
all time favorite. But it was a lovely read. I felt
connected and enjoyed it. And I have just gone online
to reserve The Hero. Number 3 in this series. Yes, I
know I am going backwards. But it does sound like
a good story.
